If the Government extend travel restrictions / enforced closure of campsites, so that you are not able to take up you current booking with us, this is the process we will follow.
- Deposit & Advance Payments – ON HOLD – Re-use in 2020 or 2021
At the time the Government confirms restrictions covering your booking, we will automatically put your booking ‘ON HOLD’, meaning that your deposit and any advance payments are available to be re-used for a future booking later this year, or next year 2021.You will understand that we have been closed since October 2019, and during winter we continue to incur running costs and also undertake repairs and maintenance, and invest in improvements and additions to the site.We use your deposits and a significant amount of borrowing to undertake this so that the site is fully prepared to welcome our guests when we open (normally) in April. At this time we are heavily indebted and then we pay this off as guests arrive and pay their balances.
Due to COVID-19 we have not been able to open and so have had no income, but most running costs continue.
We hope that most customers will defer their stay with us rather than cancel, which will help us enormously to maintain the site in good order and be ready to open as soon as allowed, with social-distancing measures, and to provide you a wonderful stay at Penmarlam Park albeit later than planned.
Please note: You do not have to decide when to re-book immediately, you can wait until the situation is clearer. At that point you can then book and we will allocate your payments to your new booking. You can of course also do this now – see “How to re-book” at the end of this post.
- Cancellation and Refunds if your booking is not possible due to Government Travel Restrictions.
If you are unable to take up your booking with us due to Government Travel Restrictions / Enforced closure, we hope that you will defer your visit, as in (1) above. If you are unable or unwilling to defer your stay you are entitled to a refund as the contract between us has been frustrated (ie neither of us is capable of performing our responsibilities under the contract).
As explained in point 1, your deposits have already been used. We are currently seeking finance under the schemes the Government have announced to help travel and other industries weather this period where we have not income.
We will refund, but there may be a delay in being able to do this immediately until this finance is secured.
- Cancellation of bookings where there are no Government Travel Restrictions or Enforced Closure in force at the time of cancellation.
Our normal Terms and Conditions of Booking apply – we have extended these so that you may change the dates of any booking up to 14 days prior to arrival to now include re-booking in both the current year and next year (2021)You will find these terms and conditions on your confirmation and will have read them on booking via our website. They can also be seen here:
