Penmarlam Park - Pont Pill from Fowey
The Anicient Town of Fowey, a short walk and ferry crossing from Penmarlam Park, hosts a wide range of shopping and gift acquisition possibilities. There is also a large range of restaurants and bars catering for all tastes from gastronomic seafood at "Sams" or "Sams Other Place" to absolute luxury at the "Fowey Hotel", Chips on Town Quay on a budget, and other retaurants covering the whole range in between. You certainly won't go hungry!
Fowey also hosts the 'Royal Fowey Regatta' in August and the 'Daphne du Maurier Festival of Arts and Literature' in May.
The former attracts thousands of sailors, boater, watersport lovers, and many more who come to support the Regatta - or just to enjoy the festivities; which include outdoor entertainment, racing, and excellent company.
The latter (though not always as highbrow as it's name would suggest), is an early season extravaganza of theatre, music, guided walks, exhibitions, concerts and more ranging from the top rated names of celebrity (not those from 'celebrity' 'big brother' or 'get me out of here') through to local theatre groups and bands. As always there is something for all from the intellectually taxing to enjoyable slush, ages 3 years to 99 (or elder). Come and see what there is for you to enjoy - we'll help you find it!
