Penmarlam Park - Bodinnick Village and the ferries to Fowey
Penmarlam Park is located at the top of Bodinnick Village. The Old Ferry Inn, at the bottom of the village (5 mins walk) is our local hostelry and welcomes visitors from the Park whether it be for a quick dose of refreshement or a full meal in the restaurant. Locally sourced produce provide the basis for the menus which change daily, and the seafood excells.
The house on the waterside (right) is Ferryside, where Daphne du Maurier wrote "The Loving Spirit" and met her husband, her son lives there to this day.
The car and passenger ferries to Fowey (and from there on to Polruan and Mevagissy) run from early morning to late evening in the summer, so you are able to visit the excellent restaurants and bars - and of course the outdoor celebrations in Regatta Week and the Du Marier Festival week - and easily return to your peaceful enclave at Penmarlam Park.
